CISSP Certification and CISSP Exam Cost The largest stumbling block to becoming a CISSP is passing the exam (and paying for it), but there are still more procedures — and fees — to go through. To begin, you must accept the (ISC)2 code of ethics.  Then there's the issue of the above-mentioned work experience criteria; once you've passed your test, you'll need to show that you've completed this criterion by obtaining endorsements from coworkers. You can take the CISSP exam before you have enough job experience to be certified; if you pass, you have six years to complete the required job experience. You must pay a $125 annual maintenance fee to keep your CISSP certification current, which is due on the anniversary of your certification date. (If you hold multiple (ISC)2 certifications, you just have to pay the cost once each year.)  If you pass the exam but don't have enough job experience, you'll be designated a "Associate of (ISC)2," and you'll only
